Sharav and Vartika Shine as EKANA 16th Inter School TT Tournament Serves Off in Style

Lucknow. The EKANA 16th Lucknow Inter School Table Tennis Tournament commenced today at the Ekana Indoor Stadium Shaheed Path, Lucknow, under the auspices of the Lucknow District Table Tennis Association. The opening day witnessed exciting matches across both boys’ and girls’ team championships, with several top seeds advancing to the next rounds after some intense battles.


Girls Team Championships


Quarterfinals:


Navayuga Radiance defeated LPS, South City 2–0.

Bhargavi Tripathi beat Vidita 11–9, 11–8; Vartika Singh beat Dhruvi 11–2, 11–6.


Seth Anand Ram Jaipuria beat DPS, Eldeco 2–0.

Medura Singh dominated Eshal Asif 11–1, 11–3; Amanya beat Tanishq Sharma 11–4, 11–3.


La Martiniere Girlsoutplayed Raj Kumar Girls Inter College 2–0.

Somya beat Sneha Kanojia 11–2, 11–2; Swasti Chandra beat Vaishnavi Verma 11–4, 11–5.


LPS, LDA Colony edged out Mt. Carmel 2–1.

Agrima lost to Sakshi Tiwari 2–11, 3–11; Avantika beat Krinjal 11–3, 11–1; Katyani & Avantika won doubles 11–6, 11–9.


Semifinals:


La Martiniere Girls College blanked LPS, LDA Colony 2–0.

Swasti Chandra beat Avantika 11–2, 11–7; Somya Chandra beat Aradhya 11–3, 11–1.


Navayuga Radiance overcame Seth Anandram Jaipuria 2–1.

Vartika Singh beat Medura Singh 11–7, 11–9; Bhargavi lost to Amaya Singh 12–10, 7–11, 6–11; Vartika & Bhargavi sealed the win in doubles 11–6, 11–8.


Boys Team Championships


First Round:


LPS, South City beat Central Academy 2–0.


Jaipuria A defeated La Martiniere 2–0.


Jaipuria ‘B’ beat Florence Nightingale 2–1.


Raj Kumar Inter College edged DPS, Indira Nagar 2–1.


Florence Nightingale ‘B’ beat LPS ‘C’ 2–1.


LPS, Jankipuram defeated La Martiniere ‘A’ 2–1 after a nail-biting decider.


Pre-Quarterfinals:


DPS, Eldeco beat LPS, South City 2–0.


Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar edged DPS, GN Extension 2–1.


Jaipuria ‘B’ beat DPS, Indira Nagar 2–1.


Career Convent got past LPS, LDA Colony 2–1.


La Martiniere College ‘C’ blanked Raj Kumar Inter College 2–0, with Sharav Sahai starring in the win, defeating Seeba 11–6, 11–9 after Vinayak Sood’s opening victory.


CMS, Aliganj beat LPS, LDA 2–1.


Jaipuria ‘A’ defeated DPS, Eldeco 2–0.


LPS, LDA overcame LPS, Sector 8 2–1.


Quarterfinals:


Career Convent beat Jaipuria ‘B’ 2–1.


CMS, Aliganj edged La Martiniere College ‘C’ 2–1 in a thrilling contest. Despite an early loss by Arnav to Vinayak Sood, Pranit leveled the tie, and Arnav & Pranit clinched the doubles 11–7, 11–8.


Jaipuria ‘A’ outclassed DPS, Eldeco 2–0.


Jaipuria ‘A’ also beat LPS, LDA ‘A’ 2–0 in another strong showing.


Sharav Sahai and Vartika Singh Impress


Among the standout performers of the day were Sharav Sahai of La Martiniere College and Vartika Singh of Navayuga Radiance. Both displayed remarkable form, composure, and consistency, Sharav’s quick footwork and tactical finesse helped his team advance to the quarterfinals, while Vartika’s all-round brilliance powered Navayuga Radiance into the girls’ final.


The tournament continues tomorrow with semifinals and finals scheduled at the Ekana Indoor Stadium, where the city’s best young paddlers will battle for top honours in both boys’ and girls’ team events.
